The Great Aboriginal People is a 100% Indigenous owned and operated independent screen production service based in Victoria. tGAP was started by Birriah | Gurreng Gurreng Murri Simon Rose, the name comes from a desire to showcase Aboriginal greatness. 

 

tGAP make screen media with individuals, community groups and corporate clients both Indigenous and non Indigenous.

I have always known my mob as strong, inventive, authentic, creative, passionate, deadly and therefore truly great, I love nothing more than collaborating on projects with my mob and helping tell the stories of our people.

Bio: Simon has been developing his production skills across documentary, corporate video and other commissioned content for several years including freelance writing, producing and directing. Simon was the Indigenous directors attachment to ABC TVs 'Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries' 2011-12, completed a factual research internship with Blackfella Films Melbourne 2015-16, was a participant in Screen Australias' National Indigenous Producing initiative 2016 and directed the NITV commissioned film: 'Our Stories, Maree Clarke Cultural Warrior' 2018, Simon is currently the director of tGAP.
